A rant about junebugs and tics.

26 Sep

I despise both of them, and I will start with why I hate junebugs.

Ever see the broadway Rodgers and Hammerstein movie Oklahoma? If not, there is a wedding scene, and everybody is happy, and singing this romantic song which somehow gradually turns into the Oklahoma song, and the grandma/mom of the bride sings something about the junebugs zooming, and it sounds very romantic-until you’ve seen and heard one of those wretched little beetles.

See? And they make an awful crunching sound like cockroaches when you step on them, and the sound they make when they fly is: “Bzzzzz *Smack* bzzzzzz *smack* bzzzzz *smack*” etc., Etc., ’cause they can’t fly. they’re forever banging into things.

Now we  will move on to the subject of tics.

The little bloodsuckers, them. Some cause Lyme disease, and some are just little deamon-like vampires. That’s all I have to say.
